City of Sydney WHATS ON features The SpinDrifters live shows at the Basement

Fiddling fiends George Washingmashine and Clare OMeara are fresh from a jam-packed Summer festival schedule with sold-out shows in Tamworth, Cuba and Paris (George and Clare also bring their trademark humour and stellar pipes to the mic). They are joined up in the SpnDrifters front by CMAA award winner Felicity Urquhart and the Roadrunner-fast guitar and vocal stylings of Stuie French.

The soul, style and rhythm of the Spin Drifters gets an extra jolt from bone fide legends Gary Steel (piano & piano accordion), Hamish Stuart (drums), Michel Rose (pedal steel), Andrew Richardson (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Michael Vidale (bass).

The contagious on-stage chemistry comes from years of playing together with different groups, from the touring bands for Beccy Cole and Kasey Chambers to collaborations of their own.

‘Expect lightning fast twin fiddles, Tex Mex, Louisiana blues, pedal steel, classic country & plenty of mayhem’ says Andrew Richardson.

‘People really felt the joy of us and what we put into the Summer shows’ adds George Washingmachine ‘The vibe of each gig has been incredible.. the next one is only going to bigger and better again.’

You’ll definitely leave the Basement on April 6th with a smile on your dial and a sassy beat in your heart.

Tickets $15, exceptional value for a hugely entertaining show.
